It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Yesterday I made beaded initials to mark our stockings. I was going to embroider our names on them, but the stockings are (a) very thick and (b) tweed at the top, so I didn't think embroidery would look as good. Last month's Better Homes and Gardens suggested stringing beads on wire to make initials, so that's what I did. I'm very pleased with how they turned out. Here is a close up of the top of mine:

And here they are hanging on our tv stand (since we don't have a fireplace and didn't really have a place for them on a wall):

You can also see our traveling Magi above Paul's stocking. They're on their way here (we found this ceramic Nativity scene at Macy's for super-cheap yesterday):

Here's a close up of the cow, for my Nanny. We're not sure why they have her loaded down with packages, but I appreciated that she has the "right" coloring.

We went this morning and got our Christmas tree, at Home Depot of all places. We were very pleased to find this lovely Blue Spruce for about half what we expected to pay.

I'll post more pictures once we get the tree all decorated.
